How Data People Connected Ltd handles personal data from this website.
Who we are
Data People Connected Ltd ("DPC", "we") is the controller of personal data collected through this website. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 07025392. Our registered office is Unit 5, Connect Business Village, 24 Derby Road, Liverpool, L5 9PR.
Contact for data protection questions: info@dpc-ltd.com.
What we collect
- Contact form and email. The form prepares an email in your email application. We receive the information when you send that email. Technical information about your website visit may also be recorded in server logs, as described below. When you email us we receive your name, email address, organisation (if given), the topic and your message.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records technical information about each request, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. The site is hosted on a server provided by Hostinger.
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools on this site, and this site does not set cookies itself.
The film on the home page is a Vimeo player embedded in the page, with Vimeo's "do not track" setting switched on. The player is part of the page itself, not loaded only when you press play: your browser loads it from Vimeo when you open the home page, or as you scroll towards the film, even if you never play it. When it loads, Vimeo receives your IP address and browser details, and it receives more when you play the film. The "do not track" setting asks Vimeo not to use tracking cookies, but it does not stop these requests. Vimeo handles this data under its own privacy policy.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To reply to your message and deal with your enquiry. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: responding to people who contact us. If your enquiry is about entering into a contract with us, the basis is taking steps at your request before a contract.
- To keep the website secure and working. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the site and handle email, under contracts that require them to protect it. Our providers are Hostinger, which hosts the website, and Google, which handles our email through Google Workspace.
If a provider stores data outside the UK, we will make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for up to two years after our last contact with you, unless they lead to a contract, in which case we keep them for the life of the contract and six years after. Server logs are kept for 14 days.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to:
- access your personal data;
- correct your personal data;
- erase your personal data;
- restrict the use of your personal data;
- object to processing;
- receive a portable copy of your personal data.
Contact us to exercise your rights, using the details above. We normally respond within one month; where a lawful extension applies, we will explain the reason and timing.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can tell us. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at any time, without contacting us first, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
We will update this notice if the way we handle personal data changes. Last updated: 22 October 2026.
