Who pays

An anchor and its suppliers

The commercial model starts with one large buyer and the businesses that supply it.

Thousands of smaller businesses

Every participant pays a recurring licence, tiered by size, and keeps one profile it can reuse with every buyer on nodeStream. Usage fees follow once workflows run.

DPC, Investment opportunity overview, October 2026, sections 8 and 10.

Model assumptions

  • Year 1 begins on the start date specified in the approved model.
  • Every participant pays a recurring licence, tiered by size. Modelled licence revenue per year-end paying organisation is approximately £396 in the UK base case and £57 in Indonesia. This uses the year-end population and is not a time-weighted customer revenue measure; the difference reflects local pricing and the UK's larger-supplier mix.
  • The 15% anchor credit is not cash and is shown at face value. Work redeemed against it is costed at 50p per £1. The accounting treatment is not yet confirmed.
  • Figures are rounded; displayed components may not sum to displayed totals. Unit costs are illustrative.

How the revenue builds

An anchor organisation asks its suppliers to join nodeStream, or organisations buy a licence directly. Once workflows run, participants also pay usage fees by transaction volume. New regional networks pay set-up and onboarding fees.

The business model

Valuation scenario

We apply an assumed 12 times multiple to the Indonesian company's modelled EBITDA, giving an enterprise value of about £140 million in the base case, with a range of £77 million to £204 million. These are possible year 5 outcomes, not current valuations.

Investment is sought in Data People Connected Ltd. Proposed territory businesses would be financed separately under licence arrangements. The parent company's economic participation in each territory will depend on agreed licence, royalty and equity terms. Supporting models and proposed arrangements are available for discussion. We do not give a group valuation.

Use of funds and milestones

What the investment is for

£750,000 of Innovate UK funding and more than £700,000 from Brian Bishop, family and friends built the technical foundations. The next phase is trial delivery and commercial growth. Investment will support customer onboarding and integration, agreed trial outcomes, commercial conversion, delivery and support capacity, and continued engineering and security assurance as deployments expand.

01 / Trials

Trial delivery

Onboard trial customers, integrate with their existing systems and deliver agreed trial outcomes, with continued engineering and security assurance as deployments expand. We plan to use AI-assisted engineering to test and integrate faster.

02 / Team

Delivery capacity

Our costed staffing plan has 12 people in the first year, rising to 22 in the second, to support commercial conversion, delivery and support. On that plan, approximately £5 million funds about 30 months of the core programme before revenue contributes.

03 / Territories

Territory companies

Separate investment through licensed territory companies would fund local market entry and deployment in places such as Europe and South East Asia. For Indonesia a proposal is submitted and a decision awaited.

Repeatable onboarding, more paying anchors and growth of proven networks.

The current plan targets at least two scoped trials in the first half of 2027 and at least two conversions to paid deployments in the second half. Targets depend on funding, agreed customer commitments and delivery scope. We will track trial outcomes, conversion, paying organisations, delivery costs and support requirements. Later years are meant to be funded by revenue from the UK network. The allocations are indicative and the milestones are proposed targets. Investment structure

The overview covers the opportunity, the platforms, the commercial model, current opportunities, the projections and the team in 10 pages.

We are seeking approximately £5 million in Data People Connected Ltd, the existing company that develops Buttress and nodeStream, to support our go-to-market strategy. We welcome discussion on the size, structure and terms of the investment.

Entry into specific territories would be funded separately, through investment in licensed territory companies.

This cannot be built by one vendor. We are looking for investors who want to build a sustainable business with measurable benefits for industry and communities. Supporting financials, a demonstration, the deployment plan and the financial models are available on request.

Opportunities

Where we stand

These opportunities are at different stages. Binding commercial agreements are still to be secured, and none is a contract yet.

  • Irish Sea Rim. Memorandum of understanding signed, operational scoping under way. Liverpool City Region Combined Authority is the proposed launch anchor, starting with public procurement networks.
  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing. A proposed smart factory project at a Liverpool pharmaceutical site, using digital twins of production. The manufacturer asked for a project plan, and a discovery phase for scoping and design has been proposed. Discovery is not a live deployment.
  • Indonesia. A proposal to a testing, inspection and certification group for chain-of-custody checks in palm oil and forestry supply chains, through a territory company. Proposal submitted, decision awaited.
  • Open & Agile Smart Cities. Memorandum of understanding signed for DPC to become an OASC Enterprise Partner, a route to cities and their suppliers. Partnership terms under negotiation.
  • ACCEND. We were one of 28 companies selected across Europe for the Smart Cities cohort of the 2026 ACCEND Scaleup Accelerator, a Horizon Europe-funded programme.
